The Felsenbühne Staatz is an open-air stage in Staatz in the northern Weinviertel in Lower Austria . It is located at the foot of the Staatzer cliff below the castle ruins .

history

From 1987 to 1998 the Staatz Felsenbühne was the location of the Karl May Festival, of which the Austrian actor and director Paul Robert Roberts was the co-founder and long-time director. It has been the venue for the annual musical summer festival since 2000 . The performance of Sister Act planned for 2020 has been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

With 1,200 seats, the Felsenbühne is one of the largest musical venues in Lower Austria with open-air performances.

Werner Auer is the artistic director and director of the Summer Festival .

The Felsenbühne Staatz is a member of the Lower Austria Theater Festival .
