Julia Kent (musician)
Julia Kent is a Canadian musician and best known as a founding member of the Rasputina cello group and as the cellist of Antony and the Johnsons . Kent was born in Vancouver , British Columbia and studied cello at Indiana University , Bloomington . She left Rasputina in 1999 and has since accompanied many well-known artists on the cello, although the focus of the collaborations is less on the classical area than on the singer-songwriter and various varieties of rock . In 2007 her first solo album "Delay" was released on Important Records (it was released for the European market on the Swiss label Shayo ). Kent now lives in New York.
