Julie Knees
Julie Kniese (also: Julie Boeß-Kniese , married name: Julie Boeß , born April 15, 1880 in Frankfurt am Main , † February 15, 1972 in Weimar ) was a German writer .
Life
Julie Kniese was the daughter of the choirmaster and conductor Julius Kniese . She attended a secondary school for girls in Bayreuth ; later she worked as a religion teacher and managed a Protestant children's home in the Bohemian town of Turn . From 1915 she published literary works; She was also a follower of the occult doctrine of the " sidereal pendulum " and wrote articles for the "Zentralblatt für Occultismus". She was married to the sculptor Berthold Boeß and last lived in Weimar .
Julie Kniese wrote short stories for children and young people as well as plays for amateur theater . Her during the period of National Socialism published books "The Wild Ling from Kauzenhof", "On the Trail of the Ancients" and "Caution! Air danger!" were on the " list of literature to be sorted out " after 1945 in the Soviet zone and the early GDR .
