Julie Parrish

Julie Parrish (born October 21, 1940 in Middlesboro , Kentucky , † October 1, 2003 in Tarzana , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress who has acted in various feature films , television films and television series . She also acted as a stage actress, author and singer .

After winning the nationwide modeling competition "Young Model of The Year", she received her first film role in the 1962 Jerry Lewis film Money Doesn't Matter (original title: It's Only Money ), in which she was still under her real name Ruby Joyce Wilbar took over. Even before her second film role in The Nutty Professor ( The Nutty Professor ), also on the side of Jerry Lewis, she changed her name to Julie Parrish.

In addition to some feature films, such as South Seas Paradise on the side of Elvis Presley , she acted in a number of television series. In the 1967/68 first broadcast series Good Morning, World , she was in all 26 episodes. She also played the role of Joan Diamond in eight episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210 between 1996 and 1998 . She had other appearances in series such as Smoking Colts (1964), FBI (1965/66), Bonanza (1966), Spaceship Enterprise (1966), Detective Rockford - A Call Is Enough (1979), The Denver Clan (1981), Murder Is her hobby (1988) and others.

In addition to acting, she wrote essays and articles and recorded a country CD called When We Dance .

In 1993, Julie Parrish was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which was initially successfully treated by surgery and chemotherapy . But in 1999 she got cancer again and died in 2003 three weeks before her 63rd birthday at the Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, Los Angeles.
