successes

Julien Bontemps took part in three Olympic Games . At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , he finished ninth in the Mistral boat class . Four years later he was in Beijing in the boat class RS: X after ten races, one point ahead of the tied Tom Ashley and Nick Dempsey . In the final so-called medal race , he only reached fourth place, so that he was overtaken by Ashley in the overall classification, who had finished the last race in third. Bontemps thus received the silver medal behind Ashley and ahead of Shahar Zubari . In 2012 he finished the windsurfing competitions in London in fifth place.

At the World Championships he first secured the bronze medal in Pattaya in 2002 , before winning the title in Izmir in 2004 , in Cádiz in 2012 and in Santander in 2014 .

Bontemps is married to the former windsurfer Irina Konstantinowa .
