Juliette Mars

Juliette Mars (born in France ) is a French opera singer with a mezzo-soprano voice .

life and work

Mars studied cello and singing in Lyon and Paris and achieved success in international singing competitions. After her first engagements in Saint-Étienne and Marseille , she was a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble from the 2006/07 season . There she could be heard in more than 40 roles, but also sang in Nice, Paris and at the Vienna Volksoper . In summer 2010 she appeared as Carmen for twelve performances at the Festival Opéras en plein air in Paris. In the 2014/2015 season she made her role debut in the Vienna Volksoper as Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel , and in autumn 2016 she sang Nicklausse and the muse in Offenbach's stories by Hoffmann . In February 2017 she took on the Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte in Laxenburg Palace , in July 2017 the title role in the world premiere of Bruno Strobl's Weibspassion Hemma at the Carinthian Summer . In October 2017 she made her debut at the Theater an der Wien as Margret in Wozzeck by Georg Büchner and Alban Berg . In June 2018 the singer will make her debut at the Paris Théâtre des Champs-Élysées as Siebel in a concert performance of Faust by Charles Gounod .

Juliette Mars sang under the musical direction of Alain Altinoglu , Bertrand de Billy , Ivor Bolton , Frédéric Chaslin , Jesús López Cobos , Fabio Luisi , Evelino Pidò , Ingo Metzmacher , Sir Simon Rattle , Peter Schneider , Jean-Christophe Spinosi , Christian Thielemann , Franz Welser-Möst and Simone Young .
