Christoph Karl Julius Asschenfeldt

Christoph Karl Julius Asschenfeldt (born March 5, 1792 in Kiel , † September 1, 1856 in Flensburg ) was a German hymn poet .

Life

Christoph Karl Julius Asschenfeldt was born on March 5th, 1792 in Kiel. He studied at the University of Göttingen and became a pastor in Windbergen in 1819 . In 1824 he became a deacon , five years later chief pastor at the St. Nikolaikirche in Flensburg . Asschenfeldt became provost of the provost office of Flensburg in 1850. Soon after, he was also appointed superintendent . In 1854, however, he resigned this office and became senior consistorial advisor . He died on September 1st, 1856 in Flensburg. He had composed 150 songs. Asschenfeldt was awarded the Dannebrogorden on October 6, 1851.
