Julius Bachmann

Julius Bachmann (born May 29, 1844 in Kulm (West Prussia) , † May 3, 1924 in Osnabrück ) was a German lawyer , mayor of Bromberg and a member of the Prussian manor house .

Life

Bachmann was born in 1844 as the son of a doctor and, after attending the Kulmer Gymnasium, studied law and political science at the universities in Heidelberg and Berlin . In 1863 he became a member of the Frankonia Heidelberg fraternity . In 1865 he was court auscultator , then court trainee , in 1870 court assistant and in 1871 district judge in Rosenberg and Thorn . In 1878 he became First Mayor of Bromberg and in 1882 Lord Mayor there .

He was from 1883 to 1890 member of the Prussian manor house and then worked as a Councilor with the Government in Osnabrück. In 1905 he was appointed a secret councilor and later became a senior councilor before retiring in 1919.
