Julius Dammann

Julius Dammann (born April 8, 1840 in Warburg , † December 10, 1908 in Eisenach ) was a German Protestant clergyman , revival preacher and writer .

Life

The son of a doctor attended the Marianum Warburg high school and a high school in Paderborn . He then studied at the Francke Foundations in Halle an der Saale and at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After graduating, he initially worked as a private tutor in Freyburg and in Peseckendorf in the Magdeburg Börde . Then he was rector of the community school in Tangermünde . The ordination to the pastor took place on December 7, 1870 in Magdeburg . As a pastor he was active in Burgscheidungen , Siegen and Essen . His burial took place in the Segeroth cemetery in Essen.

In 1889 he founded the evangelical weekly magazine Licht und Leben .
