Julius Evelt

Julius Evelt (born July 25, 1823 in Dorsten , † April 1, 1879 in Paderborn ) was an author and professor of church history and patrology at the philosophical-theological college in Paderborn.

history

The son of a court director attended the Progymnasium in Dorsten and then switched to the Gymnasium in Recklinghausen . He then studied theology, initially in Münster and Bonn . In Freiburg he received his doctorate in theology on July 31, 1847. After receiving his ordination on September 18, 1847 in Münster, he worked for two years in Dorsten as vicar. He then worked as a religion teacher and chaplain in Duisburg . On April 19, 1851, he was appointed professor for church history and patrology at the philosophical-theological college in Paderborn . Julius Evelt died in Paderborn at the age of 55.
