The company emerged from a small building plumbing shop founded in a basement in 1843. First gas meters and then oil gas operated railway lamps were produced.

When the founder died in 1884, he left behind a large industrial company which was continued as a family business by his sons Richard , Oskar , Julius Karl and Albert. In 1907 the company with its locations in Berlin, Fürstenwalde / Spree and Frankfurt am Main was transformed into a stock corporation called Julius Pintsch AG . From 1927 she was the majority shareholder in Bamag Meguin AG . In 1936 the company was converted into a limited partnership .

After the Second World War, Julius Pintsch KG was based in Hamburg . In 1946 Julius Pintsch West-KG was founded in Berlin. From 1953 the company operated as Pintsch Bamag . At that time there were about 5500 employees; the headquarters were now in Butzbach - where the headquarters of the Meguin company was from around 1920 , and one of the most important locations of Bamag Meguin from 1924 . The company was divided into ( process engineering ) planning, construction, manufacture and assembly of process engineering equipment / systems including chemical plants, gas plants, fertilizer plants, solvent recovery, water treatment for drinking, industrial and waste water, decontamination plants ; ( Railway technology ) switch construction , drive and traffic technology, train lighting; Airport lighting; Crane construction and naval defense technology.

The Pintsch Bamag AG was founded in 1967 by the Thyssen-heir Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászon taken. He smashed the company and sold the individual lucrative divisions, which predominantly continue to exist today as sole proprietorships or divisions in other companies. For example, the Dinslaken-based Pintsch BAMAG Antriebs- und Verkehrstechnik GmbH has been part of the Schaltbau Group since 1987 .

Fürstenwalde location

Julius Pintsch opened a plant for gas measurement and control devices in Fürstenwalde in 1872. After the Second World War, the plant was dismantled . VEB Gaselan , which was later renamed VEB Chemie- und Tankanlagenbau Fürstenwalde , was built on the former factory site . After reunification , the combine was split up into various individual companies.

In 1998 the company was renamed Reuther Chemical and Tank Plant Construction.
