Julius Karl Pintsch

Julius Karl Pintsch (born October 12, 1847 in Berlin , † January 29, 1912 in Berlin) was a German manufacturer, engineer and board member of Julius Pintsch AG .

Life

Julius Karl Pintsch attended the Higher Citizens' School in Stralau (later the Andreas Realgymnasium) and, after graduating from high school, completed a three-year chemistry course at the industrial academy in Berlin . After completing his studies, he joined the company that his father Julius Pintsch had founded in 1870 . Julius Karl Pintsch devoted himself primarily to the problems of gas generation. As a result, the gas works in Schwerte and Saaz were built under his leadership , and he was at the head of the gas works in Danzig for several years .

In 1879 Julius Karl Pintsch became co-owners of the company together with his two older brothers Richard and Oskar . From then on he devoted himself mainly to the construction of devices for the orientation of ships at sea as well as the construction of all kinds of navigation signs . When the large company was converted into a stock corporation in 1907 , he joined the board. In 1911 he gave up this post for health reasons, but was a member of the supervisory board of the company until his death , which had developed into the market leader in the field of gas appliances and gas lighting systems.

Honors

In 1895 Pintsch was appointed Councilor of Commerce by the Prussian King and, in 1905, was appointed Councilor of Commerce. In Świeradów-Zdrój , Julius Karl Pintsch is remembered today with a memorial plaque.

Julius Karl Pintsch was buried in the Pintsch family grave at the Georgenfriedhof . The elaborate tomb has the shape of a Doric temple.

In 1901 Julius Karl Pintsch and his wife Hedwig had a villa built in Flinsberg (today Świeradów-Zdrój ), one of the oldest holiday resorts in Lower Silesia . The architects of the house in the so-called Swiss style were Cremer & Wolffenstein , who also designed the Villa Pintsch in Berlin, Tiergartenstraße 4a, the administration and production building of Julius Pintsch AG in Berlin-Friedrichshain , Andreasstraße 71-73 and the vacation villa Marienfels of the brother Richard Pintsch in Bavaria built.
