Julius Uffelmann

Julius August Christian Uffelmann (born January 31, 1837 in Zeven , † February 17, 1894 in Rostock ) was a German physician and medical historian .

Life

Uffelmann studied in Göttingen with Friedrich Gustav Jakob Henle , Karl Ewald Hasse and Wilhelm Baum . After receiving his doctorate in 1861, he practiced in Rostock, Neustadt and Hameln .

In 1876 he completed his habilitation in Rostock in pediatrics and hygiene . In 1879 he became an associate professor and in 1893 a full honorary professor. From 1883 Uffelmann was director of the Institute for Hygiene, from 1890 a member of the Grand Ducal Medical Commission.
