Karl Ewald Hasse
Karl Ewald Hasse (born June 23, 1810 in Dresden , † September 26, 1902 in Hanover ) was a German physician and professor of special pathology .
Life
Karl Ewald Hasse studied medicine at the universities of Dresden and Leipzig . In 1833 he received his doctorate . He was u. a. Personal physician to Count Stroganov . After study trips to Paris and Vienna , he returned to Leipzig. In 1836 he completed his habilitation in Leipzig and became a prosector . In 1839 he became an associate professor of pathological anatomy in Leipzig. In 1844 he was appointed to Zurich as medical director of the cantonal hospitals and professor of medical clinic and pathology. In 1846/47 he was the rector of the university. In 1852 he was appointed full professor for special pathology at the medical clinic in Heidelberg . Wilhelm Wundt was his assistant here in 1856 . In the same year Hasse went to Göttingen in the same position , where he worked as director of the medical clinic until 1878; Robert Koch was his student there. After his retirement , Karl Ewald Hasse moved to Hameln in 1880 and later to Hanover . He received the title of Privy Councilor .
