Jun Fukuda
Jun Fukuda ( Japanese 福田 純 , Fukuda Jun ; born February 17, 1928 in Manchuria , † December 3, 2000 in Setagaya , Tokyo , Japan ) was a Japanese director . He was best known for his work in the Godzilla film series.
Life
Fukuda began as an assistant director , for example for Ishirō Honda in the film The Flying Monsters of Osaka . With Frankenstein and the monsters from the sea , he made his first film in the Godzilla series, which was to be followed by four more. His last directorial work for the cinema was The Great War of the Planets (1977). After this he made a few documentaries. For some of his films he also worked on the script and the music or the sound effects (e.g. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla ).
