Junction is the county capital and seat of the county seat of Kimble County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

geography

The city is located on US Highway 83 , 160 km southeast of San Angelo in mid-southwest Texas and has a total area of ​​5.9 km² without any significant water surface.

history

The place was founded in the spring of 1876, as a result of the formation of the county in January of the same year. It was named after its location at the confluence of the two rivers North Llano River and South Llano River .

According to the 2000 census, 2,618 people in 1,028 households and 699 families lived here. The population density was 441.4 inhabitants per km ².
