Yuri Alexandrovich Bogdanov

Yuri Alexandrowitsch Bogdanow ( Russian Юрий Александрович Богданов ; born February 2, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian pianist and university professor .

Life

Bogdanov's piano training began at the age of four when he became a student of the Central Music School for Children at the Moscow Conservatory in Anna Artobolevskaya's class . At the same time he received composition lessons from TN Rodionova. After graduating in 1990, he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1992 he won 3rd prize at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig , in 1993 2nd prize at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund , and other prizes followed. In 1992 he won first in Russia , the Scriabin - scholarship after 1989 in Moscow his first, Scriabin Museum recital had given. After graduating in 1995, he continued to study there as senior assistant Alexei Nassedkins until 1997.

Since 1997, Bogdanov has worked as a soloist with the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic and has given concerts around the world, continues to take part in competitions and participates in festivals including April-spring in Pyongyang (2004). On February 19, 2017 he played Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto in Halberstadt under Christian Fitzner . He is also a professor at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow (named after the Gnessin sisters). He is Vice President of the Artobolewskaja Foundation and the Russian Schubert Society.
