Yuri Olegowitsch Batmanow ( Russian Юрий Олегович Батманов ; born August 7, 1977 in Dimitrovgrad , Ulyanovsk Oblast of the former Soviet Union ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Yuri Batmanov started for Dinamo Ulyanovsk, later for SC Lada. He had been in the national team since 1992, but was only used in the European Cup and European Championships. His greatest success was the third place at the European Championships in 2000 , when he ran the relay competition together with Vladimir Bechterew , Mikhail Kotschkin and Pawel Muslimow , he narrowly failed to qualify for the World Cup. With a victory in the Russia Cup in Perm, he qualified again for the team for the European Championship, but was not used there. In the European Cup he was used in the 2003/2004 season , where he got some placements in the points. So he finished second in Méribel together with Sergei Baschkirow , Oleg Milowanow and Evgeni Trebuschenko . He had previously run seventh in the sprint in Brusson . He won several medals at Russian championships. In the military patrol he finished second with the team in 2002 and 2004, and in 2002 he won the relay and came third in the sprint and pursuit. After retiring from biathlon in 2008, he returned to national summer biathlon events in 2009 . In summer biathlon he competed with roller skis and won the bronze medal with the relay at the Russian championships in 2009, and in 2002 he had already finished third in the relay competition. At the European Championships in summer biathlon he achieved good results as early as 2001, over 6 km he was fifth and with the relay over 3 × 8 km he finished second.

Batmanov was recognized as a master of the sport of international class . He is married and has three children, his oldest daughter Anastassija is a successful young biathlete. He lived in his hometown of Dimitrovgrad until 2001, after which he moved to live with his wife in Izhevsk .
