Justas Pankauskas (born May 3, 1983 in Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician , former Vice Minister (2016 and 2017).

Life

After graduating from Rygiškių-Jonas-Gymnasium Marijampolė in 2001, Pankauskas completed a bachelor's degree in political science from 2001 to 2005 and a master's degree (international relations and diplomacy ) at the Vilniaus universitetas in Vilnius in 2008 . From 2005 to 2009 he was assistant to EP member Justas Vincas Paleckis in Vilnius and in 2009 he was deputy director of the VŠĮ “Atnaujinkime miestą” institution. In 2011 Pankauskas was a member of the council of the Lazdijai Rajonggemeinde .

From 2011 to 2012, Pankauskas advised the Mayor of the Municipality of Vilnius and from 2012 to June 2016 the Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius . From June 2016 to December 2016, Pankauskas was Deputy Minister , Deputy Minister of the Interior Tomas Žilinskas in the Butkevičius cabinet . From 2017 he was Deputy Minister of Justice Milda Vainiutė in the Skvernelis cabinet . He resigned at the end of September 2017.

Pankauskas is a member of the LSDP .
