Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam

Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam (born May 13, 1948 in Karampon , Kayts , Sri Lanka ) is a Sri Lankan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Jaffna .

Life

Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Jaffna on April 24, 1974 . Until his appointment as bishop he was vicar general of this diocese.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Jaffna on October 13, 2015. The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Thomas Savundaranayagam on 28 November of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Old Bishop of Trincomalee , Joseph Kingsley Swampillai , and the Bishop of Kandy , Joseph Vianney Fernando .
