The Kassel II correctional facility is a socio-therapeutic facility on Windmühlenstraße in Kassel-Wehlheiden , which is used to accommodate and treat criminals who meet the requirements of Section 12 of the Hessian Prison Act. The institution has two residential buildings, which were built in 1980 and 1988. In these, the prisoners live in six or eight residential groups. Each group has ten detention places. In addition, there are buildings for the factory and assembly operations on the site, as well as a sports and multi-purpose hall since 1993.

The therapeutic model of the social therapy institution is integrative-interdisciplinary and includes milieu and psychotherapy , social training, but also learning and professional training measures to support the rehabilitation of offenders.
