After Aymoz had to give way to Chafik Besseghier at the national level the following year , he went back to the European Championship as French champion in 2019. In Minsk , Aymoz showed a lot of improvement and narrowly missed a medal in fourth. In his subsequent world championship debut, Aymoz finished eleventh.

In the 2019/20 season, Aymoz reached the podium for the first time in appearances within the Grand Prix series . He won the bronze medal at the French GP and even the silver medal at the NHK Trophy . He qualified for the first time in his career for the Grand Prix final , where he surprisingly won his first bronze medal in the competition of the best six figure skaters of the Grand Prix season. The last time Brian Joubert succeeded in doing this was in 2006 for France .
