Royal Bavarian 10th Jäger Battalion

The 10th Jäger Battalion was an association of the Bavarian Army . The battalion's last peacetime location was Aschaffenburg .

history

The battalion was formed on July 1, 1868 from units and sub-units of the 4th , 5th , 8th and 15th Infantry Regiments .

During the Franco-German War , the battalion took part in the battles near Weißenburg , Wörth and Sedan . It was involved in the Battle of Châtillon . The battalion entered Paris on March 1, 1871.

The battalion was assigned to the 17th Infantry Regiment "Orff" on October 1, 1878 .
