Kōji Suzuki ( Japanese 鈴木 孝 司 , Suzuki Koji ; born July 25, 1989 in Miura , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Kōji Suzuki learned to play football in the school team of Toko Gakuen High School and in the university team of Hōsei University . He signed his first contract with FC Machida Zelvia in 2012 . The club from Machida , a city in Tokyo Prefecture , played in the second division, the J.League Division 2 . In 2013 the club played in the then Japan Soccer League and from 2014 in the J3 League . In the 2014 season he scored 19 goals and was the top scorer . In 2015 he was runner-up in J3 with Machida and was promoted to the second division. At the beginning of 2019 he moved to the second division promoted FC Ryūkyū . In August 2019 he signed a contract with the first division club Cerezo Osaka in Osaka .
