Miura ( Japanese 三浦 市 , - shi ) is a Japanese city in the south of Kanagawa Prefecture . Miura is located south of Tokyo and Yokohama on the Miura Peninsula between Sagami Bay in the west and the Uraga Canal in the east.
Miura is known for the Miura Marathon , which is usually held in the first week of March. The race consists of distances of 5 km, 10 km and a half marathon . Due to the many hills and inclines, it has a high degree of difficulty. The highest point of the race is 72 m above sea level. NN.
The city includes the port of Misaki , which was the most important port in Japan in the 18th century and is now the second most important for tuna .
