^ J. League Division 2 2014 |
The 2014 J3 League was the first season of the J3 League , the third division of the Japanese J. League . Twelve clubs took part in it. The season began on March 9, 2014 and ended on November 23, 2014, the relegation games between the penultimate of the J. League Division 2 2014 and the runner-up took place on November 30 and December 7, 2014.
The first champion of the newly founded division and thus promoted to the J2 League 2015 was Zweigen Kanazawa . Runner-up AC Nagano Parceiro narrowly failed in the relegation games against the penultimate of the J. League Division 2 2014, Kamatamare Sanuki .
mode
The clubs played against each other three times, at least once at home; an exception to this was the J. League U-22 selection, which only played away games. There were a total of 33 games per team. There were three points for a win; in the case of a draw, each team received one point. The table was created according to the following criteria:
- Number of points scored
- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Results of the games among themselves
- Decision game or coin toss
The club with the most points rose directly to the J2 League 2015 at the end of the season , the runner-up played in two relegation games against the penultimate of the J. League Division 2 2014 for promotion to the J2 League.
Attendees
With the aim of achieving better integration between the two professional leagues and the amateur sector, the J. League established another division for the 2014 season, which should not have as strict admission criteria as the J. League Division 2 . This was also due to the fact that more and more clubs in the Japan Football League gathered in the previous years , which had successfully tried to be accepted as so-called "extraordinary members" in the J. League, but due to the limited capacity of the J2 would have had no chance of attaining professional status in the medium to long term.
In order to be considered for the premiere season, clubs interested in participating either had to already have the status of extraordinary member or had to apply for membership by June 30, 2013. In the latter case, the J. League Council then checked whether the respective club met the requirements for participation. On November 19, 2013, the following eleven clubs were confirmed as participants in the J3 League 2014 (in brackets, the league membership in the 2013 season):
- Gainare Tottori ( J2 2013 , relegated)
- Blaublitz Akita ( JFL )
- Machida Zelvia (JFL)
- SC Sagamihara (JFL)
- AC Nagano Parceiro (JFL)
- Branches Kanazawa (JFL)
- YSCC Yokohama (JFL)
- FC Ryūkyū (JFL)
- Fukushima United FC (JFL)
- Fujieda MYFC (JFL)
- Grulla Morioka ( Tōhoku Soccer League, winner of the promotion games of the nine regional league winners)
A U-22 selection team from the J1 and J2 clubs was added as the twelfth team. This team, which is made up of the best young players from the higher-class clubs, was founded with a view to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The players were selected on a weekly basis from a pool for which each club was able to name talented individuals worth promoting; the composition of the team therefore varied greatly from game to game. As a further specialty, the U-22 team only played away games.
