Fukushima United was founded in 2006 through a merger of the clubs FC Pelada Fukushima ( FC ペ ラ ー ダ 福島 , FC Perāda Fukushima ) and Junkers ( ユ ン カ ー ス , Yunkāsu ). After a steady rise through the league pyramid of Japan, which was also marked by a lack of money in the meantime, they won the Tōhoku Football League twice in a row in 2011 and 2012 . This entitles them to participate in the national regional league finals , in which they reached second place in 2012 and thus rose to the Japan Football League . In June 2013, Fukushima United became one of the twelve founding members of the newly formed J3 League , which began playing at the beginning of 2014. There they established themselves in the midfield.
