Azul Claro Numazu , also spelled azul claro Numazu ( Japanese ア ス ル ク ラ ロ 沼 津 , Asuru Kuraro Numazu ) is a Japanese football club from Numazu , Shizuoka Prefecture . The club has been a member of the J. League since the 2017 season ; He currently plays in the J3 League , the third division of the Japanese football system.
history
azul claro Numazu was founded in 1977 as Numazu Arsenal ( 沼 津 ア ー セ ナ ル ) and renamed the Numazu Kōryō Club ( 沼 津 香 陵 ク ラ ブ ) in 1980 . Initially, the club played in the regional leagues of Shizuoka Prefecture. In order to create a more professional environment, the club was restructured in 2006, with the goal of an early promotion to the top division, the J. League Division 1 , given. The name has also been changed to its current form. azul claro comes from Portuguese and Spanish and means "light blue".
In 2012, the club rose to the second division of the Tōkai Adult Soccer League (6th division) for the first time, where the renewed promotion succeeded immediately. At the end of the following season, despite a fourth place in the league, azul claro were given good chances of being accepted into the newly founded J3 League ; However, since only one place was given to clubs from the regional leagues, Grulla Morioka had to be given preference. Nevertheless, one rose to the Japan Football League, as azul claro was appointed as one of the successors for the J3 founding clubs. This was not least due to the J. League Associate Member status received on September 17, 2013 , which means that the club meets the necessary criteria for inclusion in the professional leagues. At the end of the 2016 season, they finished third in the championship and thus met the athletic criteria necessary for admission to the J. League ; this took place on November 16, 2016.
In mid-September 2015, the club caused a stir with the signing of the former Japanese national player and the record scorer of the J. League Division 1 Masashi Nakayama .
