The 2015 J3 League was the second season of the J3 League , the third division of the Japanese J. League . 13 clubs took part in it. The season started on March 15, 2015 and ended on November 23, 2015.
Renofa Yamaguchi FC was promoted to champions and was promoted to the J2 League in 2016 . They were followed a little later by FC Machida Zelvia , who were successful in the relegation games against the penultimate of the 2015 J2 League , Ōita Trinita .

The clubs played against each other three times, at least once at home; an exception to this was the J. League U-22 selection, which only played away games. There were a total of 36 games per team. There were three points for a win; in the case of a draw, each team received one point. The table was created according to the following criteria:

- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Results of the games among themselves
- Decision game or coin toss
The club with the most points rose directly to the J2 League 2016 at the end of the season , the runner-up played in two relegation games against the penultimate of the J2 League 2015 for promotion to the J2 League.
Attendees
At the end of the previous season , champions Zweigen Kanazawa rose to the J. League Division 2 2015 . Branches was replaced by the bottom of the table in J. League Division 2 2014 , Kataller Toyama , who returned to the third level of the league pyramid after six years in the Japanese second division. AC Nagano Parceiro qualified in second place for the relegation games against the penultimate of the J2, Kamatamare Sanuki , and missed promotion after a goalless draw in the first leg by a narrow 1-0 defeat in the second leg.
The extraordinary J. League member Renofa Yamaguchi FC was accepted as a promoted member of the Japan Football League 2014 . As the best team among the extraordinary members, Renofa achieved a fourth place that is minimally necessary for promotion.
As in the previous year, a U-22 selection team from the J1 and J2 clubs completed the field of participants. This team, which was made up of the best young players from the higher-class clubs, was founded with a view to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The players were selected on a weekly basis from a pool for which each club was able to name talented individuals worth promoting; the composition of the team therefore varied greatly from game to game. As a further specialty, the U-22 team only played away games.

Relegation
The penultimate of the J2 League 2015 played against the runner-up of the J3 League 2015 in two relegation games for a place in the J2 League 2016 . The first leg took place on November 29 and the second leg on December 6, 2015.
