The Japan Football League 2014 was the 16th season of the Japan Football League , after the introduction of the J3 League for the first time as the fourth highest division in Japanese football . Fourteen clubs took part in it.

The season began on March 16, 2014 with the first match day of the 1st half series and ended on November 29, 2014 with the championship second leg of the two half series winners Honda FC and Sagawa Printing Kyoto . The factory team of the Honda group prevailed after a 2-2 draw in the first leg with 3-2 in the second leg and thus won their fifth JFL championship.

mode

All clubs met twice in a double round tournament , once at home and once away. A team played a total of 26 games. There were three points for a win; in the case of a draw, each team received one point. For the first time, the outward and second round were evaluated separately, and an overall table was created to determine the possible promotions and relegations to the 2015 J3 League . All three tables were created according to the following criteria:

  1. Number of points scored
  2. Goal difference
  3. Goals scored
  4. Results of the games among themselves
  5. Decision game or coin toss

For promotion to the J3 League, a team had to have the license for this division and complete within the top four of the overall table. A maximum of two clubs rose. Due to the reduced number of participants compared to the previous season, the relegation was completely suspended at the end of the season in order to get to the number of sixteen teams targeted for the future as quickly as possible.

Attendees

The founding of the J3 League had an enormous impact on the field of participants in the Japan Football League, which had to give up ten of its former eighteen teams in the preseason to the professional league J. League . AC Nagano Parceiro , SC Sagamihara , FC Machida Zelvia , Zweigen Kanazawa , Blaublitz Akita , FC Ryūkyū , YSCC Yokohama , Fujieda MYFC and Fukushima United FC were among the first teams in the 2014 J3 League , and Kamatamare Sanuki was able to play off against Kataller Toyama , the last of the J. League Division 2 2013 , prevail and move up to the J. League Division 2 2014 .

In order to absorb the bloodletting to some extent, six teams were accepted into the league. As usual, Fagiano Okayama Next and Kagoshima United FC teams from the Regional League finals were among the newcomers; Fagiano Next was the reserve team of J. League club Fagiano Okayama and finished the final round behind the J3 League champion Grulla Morioka in second place, while Kagoshima United was one of the two in third and fourth place for the 2014 season the local rivals FC Kagoshima and Volca Kagoshima newly founded club.

In addition, Vanraure Hachinohe , azul claro Numazu , FC Maruyasu Okazaki and Renofa Yamaguchi FC received admission to the Japan Football League. With the exception of the company team from Maruyasu Industries, these were exclusively teams that had received the status of the J. League Centennial Plan Club before the season , but not the license for the J3 League. Shortly after the start of the season, Tochigi Uva FC also received club status of the Hundred Year Plan.

In addition to all these new teams, two other clubs changed their names to strengthen the bond between the team and the club. From Sagawa Printing SC was Sagawa Printing Kyoto , Hoyo Oita named in Verspah Oita to.
