Ken Matsubara ( Japanese 松原 健 , Matsubara Ken ; born February 16, 1993 in Usa , Ōita Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Ken Matsubara learned to play football in the youth team of Ōita Trinita . Here he also signed his first professional contract in 2011. The club from Ōita , a port city in the prefecture of Ōita on the Japanese island of Kyushu , played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . The 2014 season he was loaned to the first division club Albirex Niigata in Niigata . After the loan ended, he was signed by Niigata in 2015. From 2014 to 2015 he played once in the J.League U-22 Selection . This team, which played in the third division, the J3 League , was made up of the best young players from the higher-class clubs. The team was founded with a view to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The players were selected on a weekly basis from a pool for which each club was able to name talented individuals worth promoting; the composition of the team therefore varied greatly from game to game. In 2017 he signed a contract with league competitor Yokohama F. Marinos in Yokohama . In 2019 he celebrated the Japanese football championship with the Marinos.
