Křížový potok is a mountain stream in the Czech part of the eastern Giant Mountains .

location

The sources of the stream, which was known as the "Kreuzbach" before 1945, are located on the eastern slope of the Růžová hora (German: Rosenberg , 1396 m), about 70 meters below the summit. Its valley, a side valley of the Löwengrund (Czech:  Lví důl ), is narrow and deep between the northeastern foothills of the Rosenberg and its northeastern upstream winter peak Koule (de:  Kugel , 1264 m) cut. Its course leads first in a northeastern direction, later in the lower reaches in an easterly direction. After a little less than two kilometers it flows into the Löwenbach (cs:  Jelení potok ).

Names

The valley bears the Czech name "Slunný důl", which goes back to the earlier German name "Sonnengraben". Another old German name is "Kreuzgraben".

Tourism and nature protection

Down in the Löwengrund, the K25 bicycle route leads on an asphalt road from Malá Úpa (de:  Klein Aupa ) to Šímovy chalupy (de:  Simmaberg ); up on the ridge, a little above the springs, the path from Velká Úpa (de:  Groß Aupa ) to Schneekoppe is marked in yellow . But there are no roads leading through the solar moat. The stream and the surrounding area of the valley are located in the Giant Mountains National Park Krkonošský národní park (KRNAP) and are therefore closed to hikers, skiers and cyclists.
