The managing directors are Patrick Gruhn and Johannes Hattler. Gruhn is the sole shareholder. The station can be received via satellite or cable with a digital receiver and via live stream over the Internet. Today the transmission area extends over the entire German-speaking area and Switzerland as well as all of Europe .

About the transmitter

K-TV emerged from an initiative of Pastor Hans Buschor , was founded in 1999 and was headed by Buschor until his death in 2017. The successor took Pastor Thomas Maria Rimmel , military chaplain Werner Maria Hess and Pastor Paul Schuler . The K in the name K-TV stands for the designation of the apostle Peter as Kefa or Kephas (Aramaic). The purpose of the station is the media proclamation of the Catholic faith, the strengthening of faith and the new evangelization.

It was first broadcast on September 11, 1999 via the Eutelsat satellite system . Some time later, K-TV also became available via cable networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Reception via the Astra satellite system has been possible digitally since November 1st, 2002 and via the Internet since October 2006. The broadcaster has been offering teletext since the end of October 2005. In 2006, an outside broadcast vehicle was expanded for regular live broadcasts of church services from churches and places of pilgrimage. Since September 1, 2006, the program has also been offered as a live stream. Since the start of the IPTV offer also via T-Home and since April 2007 via Internet streaming box .

In 2013, around 35 permanent employees worked at the station. In addition to a steady expansion of the program, according to the broadcaster, a growth in the number of viewers can be observed, which is derived from the increasing number of programs sent out. According to the broadcaster, the financial outlay amounts to around 250,000 euros per month, which is fully covered by donations. The in-house editorial team was dissolved in January 2015 due to an economic and strategic realignment of the station, which wants to obtain content from outside in the future.

K-TV broadcasts 24 hours a day. The individual programs are repeated at different times for a week. At night, repetitions from the previous week's program are shown.
