The KJI No. 20 and 21 are four-coupled narrow-gauge locomotives of the former small railways of the Jerichow I district (KJI).

history

In 1938 the KJI acquired two new superheated steam locomotives from Henschel to strengthen the locomotive park. In 1949 they were given the numbers 99 4801 and 4802 from the Deutsche Reichsbahn. After their main line was closed in 1965, they came to the former Rügen Kleinbahn . They stayed there after privatization and are still in use today under the same number.

technical features

The locomotives are similar to the standard locomotives of the 99.32 series , but they are somewhat smaller in size and have no trailing axle. The machines have an inner frame, they have Heusinger controls and the third axis is driven. The water tanks are to the side of the boiler, the coal supplies are located behind the driver's cab.

The frame of the 99 4802 was shortened in 1950 and the leading axle was removed, for this purpose the whole structure had to be moved backwards. In 1964 she got the leading axle back.
