Kaan Kairinen (born December 22, 1998 ) is a Finnish football player on the position of an attacking midfielder and multiple junior national player.

Club career

Kairinen began his career as a football player with Inter Turku from the Finnish coastal city of Turku , where he played all youth leagues and in 2014, at the age of 15, made his debut in a competitive game for the professional team with play in the Veikkausliiga . The young talent was tested by Aston Villa in July and August 2013 , but was not able to convince. After he was already on the bench in the 24th round of Veikkausliiga 2014 on August 13th in the 0-2 defeat against record champions HJK Helsinki , he was finally in the 33rd and last round in the 0-1 Home defeat against FF Jaro from the 70th minute came on for Kalle Kauppi, who was almost seven years older than him .

After this season, which he finished with the professional team in tenth place in the table, he was still courted by various European clubs. At the end of the year he was in conversation with Tottenham Hotspur , where the then 15-year-old, whose contract with Inter Turku runs until 2016, spent a week of trial training at the academy in England. After no offer was made here either, the now 16-year-old started the 2015 season with the pros from Inter Turku , in which he was given stakes by coach Job Dragtsma from the very first round .

Even before that, from January 2015 he made regular appearances in the U-19 and B team, for which he also scored several goals, as well as appearances in the Finnish League Cup , from which he was with the team after several times over The full game time was on the lawn, after the penalty shootout against Tampereen Ilves in the round of 16 from the current tournament. From mid-February he completed a one-week trial training session at the Danish club FC Nordsjælland , which, however, repeatedly did not end with a contract signing for him. In the Finnish Football Cup of 2015 , he and the team made it to the semi-finals, where the Kuopion PS waited as an opponent on August 15, 2015 . In the official league, the young Finn has so far (as of June 29, 2015) played in twelve different league games and already contributed a goal assist in the second round match against Tampereen Ilves. He put the ball on for his teammate Vahid Hambo , who scored the 3-0 lead with a cross; the team eventually won the game 3-1.

On February 1, 2016, he moved to FC Midtjylland in the Danish Super League . In the summer of 2017 he was loaned to Skive IK for half a year .

National team career

Kaan Kairinen made his debut for the U-15 team in his home country back in 2013, after having played a U-14 team in his home country in 2012 at the age of 13. Further missions followed in the next few years, including in the U-16 national team, in which he made numerous international appearances. After having made more appearances in the U-18 team from 2014, he was also used for the first time in the Finnish U-18 national team from the beginning of 2015.

With the U-17 national team, with which he was also active in various friendly matches, he also played in the qualification for the U-17 European Championship in 2015 , where he even led his team in one game as team captain. The Kairinen, who was used as the central midfielder at that time, was eliminated with the team in the group stage and could therefore not qualify for the finals in Bulgaria .
