The Kabafita Forest Park is a forest area in the West African state of Gambia .
topography
The approximately 2.8 by 0.8 kilometers or 243 hectares of tree savannah is located in the West Coast Region , Kombo Central district . It is just north of the town of Brikama and is east of the South Bank Road , Gambia's main trunk road that goes from Serrekunda to Brikama. The Nymbai Forest Park is on the other side of the street .
The forest area is used, among other things, to obtain firewood through afforestation with fast-growing softwood . The afforestation was financially supported by the Gambian-German Forestry Project .
There are also some mango plantations here . To observe the following birds: Wahlberg eagle (or Silver Eagle) ( Hieraaetus wahlbergi ), African Hobby (or Africa-Eurasian Hobby) ( Falco cuvierii ) Gold Cuckoo ( Chrysococcyx caprius ) Baumhopf ( Phoeniculus purpureus ), Greater Honeyguide ( Indicator indicator ) Graubrust Woodpecker ( Dendropicos goertae ), whistling Cistensänger ( Cisticola lateralis ) and African Black ear oriole ( Oriolus auratus ).
