Kai Heerings (born January 12, 1990 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player .
Career
Heerings started his career in his hometown at Ajax Amsterdam . Then he played for the second team of FC Utrecht . After he was in the professional squad for the first time in February 2011, he made his debut in the Eredivisie in August 2011 when he was substituted on in the final minutes of the game against Vitesse Arnhem . On the 5th day of the 2011/12 season he was in the starting line-up for the first time against Excelsior Rotterdam . After he was only a substitute in his first two seasons in the professional squad, he was able to play permanently in the starting line-up in the 2013/14 season and scored his first goal in the Dutch top division in November 2013 against ADO Den Haag .
After losing his regular place in the following season, Heerings moved to league rivals SC Cambuur in the summer of 2015 . After he had only made five league appearances there in the first half of the season, he was awarded to the second division team Helmond Sport in January 2016 .
For the 2016/17 season, Heerings moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten , where he received a contract that was valid until June 2018.
In January 2017 he moved to Germany to the regional league team FC 08 Homburg , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2019. After Heerings was relegated from the Regionalliga Südwest with FC 08 Homburg , he moved back to the Netherlands, where he joined the second division Fortuna Sittard , where he also received a contract that was valid until June 2019.
