Celeste Beryl Bonin (* 7. October 1986 in Houston , Texas ) is an American model , bodybuilder , businesswoman and former wrestler with Mexican ancestry. She was under contract with the WWE until January 8, 2014 , where she performed under the ring name Kaitlyn .

Private life

Braun's best friend is former WWE diva AJ Lee . Her greatest idol in wrestling is Goldberg . On November 29, 2013, Braun announced the engagement to Philip Drew Braun Jr. (PJ Braun), bodybuilder and president of Prime Nutrition and Blackstone Labs. The two married on June 20, 2014 and Celeste Bonin took her husband's name.

Bodybuilding career

Braun made her first bodybuilding appearance in 2006. In 2007 she won the National Physique Committee John Sherman Classic Figure and Fitness Championship and finished fifth in the Arnold Classics . She reached a place in the top five in Musclemania Superbody in 2007. In 2008 she appeared on the hard fitness calendar as Miss November and finished 16th in the NPC Junior Nationals. In 2009, Braun appeared in the bodybuilding magazine Flex .

Wrestling career

World Wrestling Entertainment (2010-2014, since 2018)

Florida Championship Wrestling (2010)

In July 2010 she signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and first appeared in their development league Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where she made her debut under the ring name Celeste in a bikini contest. Her ring name was first changed to Ricki Vaughn and then to Kaitlyn . On August 22, 2010, she made her ring debut as Lumberjill in a match between AJ Lee and Naomi Knight.

NXT and main roster debut (2010-2012)

On 7 September, Brown teammate of Vickie Guerrero in the third season of WWE NXT . After a few challenges and matches , she won this season.

On December 3, 2010, she was the SmackDown - Roster appointed. Braun played her first match at SmackDown on January 28, 2011, where she and Kelly Kelly were defeated by LayCool ( Layla & Michelle McCool ). From the SmackDown episode on May 27, 2011, Braun and AJ Lee formed the tag team The Chickbusters , which existed until May 13, 2012.

From February 8, 2012, Braun took part in NXT Redemption , where she feuded with Derrick Bateman against Maxine, with whom she then also had a storyline relationship.

WWE Divas Champion and Resignation (2012-2014)

August 2012. feuded Brown against Eve Torres . In the course of this, she won a Divas Battle Royal on August 20, 2012 and thus became the main challenger on Layla's WWE Divas Championship . This title match did not take place due to a storyline . After a few defeats at RAW, Hell in a Cell, the Survivor Series and SmackDown, Braun was finally able to win her first title match against Eve by counting on the Raw edition on January 7, 2013. In the RAW anniversary edition for the 20th anniversary on January 14, 2013, she was allowed to win the WWE Divas Championship from Eve Torres in her hometown of Houston . At PPV Payback , she had to hand over the title to AJ Lee .

On January 8, 2014, it was announced that Braun had terminated their contract and left WWE with immediate effect. Their last match was broadcast the same evening. She lost to AJ Lee in the WWE Main Event . In her last interview with WWE, she said she was going back to the fitness industry and founded fitness apparel company Celestial Bodiez. On July 17th, 2014, Braun made a statement that she has retired from the wrestling business to focus fully on her marriage and her dress line.

Return (since 2018)

On July 12, 2018, WWE announced that Kaitlyn would return, for the first time in four years, as one of the participants in the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament.

Entrepreneurship

In addition to her wrestling career, Bonin also works for the fitness website Hardbody.com , for which she does interviews.

On June 25, 2014, Braun launched her own clothing line Celestial Bodiez . Braun is also the press spokesperson for Prime Nutrition, her husband's PJ Braun company.
