biography

Kling competed in her first FIS race in December 2003. In December 2005, she started in the European Cup . Her best result was a 14th place in the downhill from Crans-Montana on March 11, 2009, before she finished on the podium for the first time on January 25, 2010 as second in the giant slalom of Crans-Montana. In the World Cup , she competed in her first race in January 2007. In February, the Swede took part in the 2007 World Cup in her home town of Åre in the Super-G and in the Downhill, but did not finish in any race. On December 2, 2007, she won World Cup points for the first time in the Super-G of Lake Louise with 28th place.

In the 2008/09 season she reached 18th in the super-combined of Tarvis on February 20, 2009, her first placement among the top 20. At the end of March 2009, she was Swedish champion in downhill, super-G, giant slalom and parallel slalom; a year earlier she had won the title in the super combined. Kling took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and was ranked 26th in the giant slalom. Shortly afterwards, on March 6, 2010, she achieved her first top 15 result in the World Cup with 14th place in the downhill from Crans-Montana. Three days later she won both European Cup downhill runs in Tarvisio and thus achieved third place in the downhill classification. In April 2010 she won two more Swedish championship titles in giant slalom and super-G.

In December 2010, Kling suffered severe ligament injuries in both knees in a fall in the giant slalom in Semmering , which is why she had to end the 2010/11 season early. Due to complications, she was unable to match her previous level of performance for a long time. In the 2011/12 season she was only three times in the top 30, and twice in the 2012/13 season. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, there was a noticeable increase in performance. After an 8th place on December 7th in the downhill from Lake Louise, she achieved the best result of her career so far with 7th place in the Super-G one day later. A week later she achieved a further improvement when she finished second in the Super-G in St. Moritz and thus achieved the first podium of her career.

In autumn 2017, Kling decided to take a break from racing due to depression. On August 6, 2018, she announced her resignation.
