description

Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe deficiens is a perennial , group-forming plant that reaches heights of up to 150 centimeters and is completely glabrous or glandular-hairy in the upper area. The fleshy, light gray-green leaves are glabrous and petiolate. The wide petiole is 0.5 to 2 inches long. Their elliptical, egg-shaped to broadly obovate leaf blades are 4 to 10 inches long and 2.5 to 5 inches wide. Its tip is blunt, the base wedge-shaped. The leaf margin is entire or notched.

Generative characteristics

The upright inflorescence is 7 to 12 inches long. The upright flowers , covered with short, more or less dense glandular hairs , stand on 2 to 6 millimeters long, roughly glandular-hairy pedicels . Your calyx tube is 0.2 to 0.5 millimeters long. The narrow, egg-shaped to lanceolate, pointed calyx tips are 3 to 6.5 millimeters long and 1 to 2 millimeters wide. The corolla is scarlet, orange-red to pink in color. The approximately cylindrical corolla tube is slightly expanded at its base and 8 to 12 millimeters long. Their ovoid to obovate corolla lobes have a tip attached and are 5 to 7 millimeters long and 2.2 to 4 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached to the tip of the corolla tube. The upper stamens protrude slightly from the flower. The egg-shaped anthers are 1 to 1.2 millimeters long. The linear nectar flakes are 3 to 3.5 millimeters long. The carpel is 7.5 to 8 millimeters long. The stylus is 2 to 4 millimeters long.
