Vegetative characteristics
Kalanchoe germanae is a perennial , bare plant that reaches heights of 20 to 100 centimeters. The leaves are stalked. The petiole , which is not broadened at the base, is petiolate and up to 4 centimeters long. The upper leaves are occasionally three-lobed or consist of three sub-leaves. The glauke or gray-green leaf blade is lanceolate-elliptical. In medium-sized leaves, it is 7.5 to 15 inches long and 2.5 to 5.5 inches wide. Its tip is pointed, the base wedge-shaped. The leaf margin is deeply serrated.
Generative characteristics
The inflorescence is a panicle cyme and reaches a length of 10 to 30 centimeters. The upright flowers are on 5 to 20 millimeter long flower stalks . Your calyx tube is 1 to 2 millimeters long. The narrow lanceolate calyx lobes are 8 to 15 millimeters long and 2 to 3 millimeters wide. The petals are creamy white or yellow. The corolla tube is 19 to 27 millimeters long. Their lanceolate, long, pointed corolla lobes are 10 to 16 millimeters long and 4 to 6 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached above the center of the corolla tube. The upper stamens protrude from the flower. The elongated anthers are 1.3 to 2 millimeters long. The linear nectar flakes have a length of 5 to 7.5 millimeters and are about 2 millimeters wide. The slender carpel has a length of 10 to 15 millimeters. The stylus is 7 to 10 millimeters long.
Systematics and distribution
Kalanchoe germanae is common in northern Tanzania on dry, rocky places on volcanic soils at altitudes of 1000 to 1800 meters.
