The persistent , completely bald and strong Kalanchoe prolifera reaches heights of growth of 80 to 300 centimeters. The upright to prostrate, robust, unbranched shoots reach a diameter of up to 5 centimeters and are more or less square. The green, fleshy leaves are stalked, with entire to pinnate or pinnate. They are up to 30 centimeters long in total. The 5 to 12 cm long petiole widens towards the base and encompasses the stem. The elongated, lanceolate to ovate-elongated partial leaves are between 7 and 15 centimeters long and 1.5 to 5 centimeters wide. Its tip is blunt, the often purple leaf margin is notched or toothed.
The very large inflorescence reaches dimensions of 40 to 80 centimeters in length and 20 to 40 centimeters in width. It consists of composite panicles with up to 700 pendulous flowers . The green calyx is bell-shaped and papillary. The calyx tube is between 13 and 16 millimeters long and ends in pointed, almost circular lobes that are 3 to 7 millimeters long and wide. The red, green or yellow corolla is tubular. The 15 to 25 millimeter long corolla tube has egg-shaped, pointed tips 2.7 to 4 millimeters long and 3 to 4 millimeters wide. The stamens protruding from the corolla tube are attached below the middle. Their egg-shaped anthers are 2 to 2.6 millimeters long. The circular to trapezoidal nectar flakes are 1.3 to 1.6 millimeters long and 2 to 2.5 millimeters wide. The carpel is 7 to 8 millimeters long. The protruding stylus is between 17 and 20 millimeters long.
