Kaled Gourmi (born April 18, 1986 ) is a French - Algerian football player . He has been without a club since summer 2018.

Player career

In the club

Gourmi began his career in the 2006/07 season with the Italian fourth division club Nuorese Calcio , where he was under contract for a year and then moved to FC Baulmes in the 1st division , the highest Swiss amateur league. The midfielder was able to score seven goals in 26 games in his debut season for Baulmes and at the end of the season moved to Yverdon-Sport FC in the second highest Swiss division, the Challenge League . In his first season in Yverdon he was able to establish himself as an important part of the team, when he was used in 30 games and was able to mark six goals.

He also started the 2009/10 season with the Vaudois, but was awarded to the BSC Young Boys after six league games . The Bernese announced on September 14, 2009 that the French would be loaning them until the end of the season. On October 4, he made his debut in the home game against FC Aarau for the Bernese, when he came on in the 71st minute for Alberto Regazzoni . On February 23, 2010, the Young Boys announced the Frenchman's immediate return to Yverdon-Sport FC.

In the summer of 2011, Gourmi moved to ES Sétif in Algeria . With the club he was able to celebrate the Algerian championship and the national cup victory in his first season. Also in the following season he was able to defend the championship title with Sétif.

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season it was announced that Gourmi would play for the capital club MC Algier in the future . There was an integral part of the team in the following two seasons. In mid-2016 he moved to al-Shahania SC in the Qatar Stars League , but returned to Algiers six months later. From there he went back to Yverdon-Sport in November 2017, but he has been without a club since the end of the 2017/18 season.

National team

In May 2013, Gourmi made his debut for the local selection of the Algerian national team in a friendly against Mauritania . However, according to a decision by FIFA, these matches are not considered to be official A internationals.

More than a year later, national coach Christian Gourcuff invited him for the first time to a perspective training camp for the senior national team in September 2014. Due to the injuries of Ryad Boudebouz and El Arbi Hillel Soudani , Gourmi was re-nominated for the qualifying games for the Africa Cup 2015 against Malawi in the following October and was thus in the official Algerian squad for the first time, but was not used.
