Kalevi Johannes Laurila (born December 5, 1937 in Sääksmäki , † April 13, 1991 in Kangasala ) was a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Laurila, who started for the Tampereen Poliisi-Urheilijat , appeared internationally for the first time at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 . There he won the silver medal with the relay. In March 1962 he was seventh over 50 km at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival . At the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , he won the silver medal with the relay. He also took ninth place over 15 km and sixth place over 30 km. In March 1964 he took third place over 50 km at the Lahti Ski Games . Two years later he won the silver medal over 30 km and with the relay at the World Championships in Oslo . He also finished fifth there over 15 km. In early March 1966 he won the Lahti Ski Games over 15 km. The following year he won the 30 km run at the Svenska Skidspelen . At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , he won the bronze medal with the relay. He also came in 11th place over 50 km, sixth place over 30 km and fourth place over 15 km. At the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in March 1969, he finished fourth in the 50 km run. In the following year he took fifth place over 50 km at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival and second place over 15 km at the Lahti Ski Games. His last international appearance was at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun . There he took fourth place with the relay.

In the Finnish championships Laurila won four times over 15 km (1967, 1968, 1970, 1974), twice over 30 km (1966, 1968) and once over 50 km (1967). During and after his cross-country skiing career, he worked as a police officer in Tampere .
