Kali Dora Flanagan (born September 19, 1995 in Winchester , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who plays on the position of defender . Flanagan has been a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team since 2017 and is a one-time world and Olympic champion.

Career

Flanagan played at the National Sports Academy in the Lake Placid ski resort in New York State between 2010 and 2013 . From there she moved to Boston College for her studies in the 2013/14 school year . In her first year there, however, Flanagan fully concentrated on her studies and only joined the college's ice hockey team in the 2014/15 school year. For the Eagles , the defender ran at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Hockey East , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In the following year she won the division's championship with the team before making the leap to the squad of the United States women's national ice hockey team the following season . With this, Flanagan contested and won the 2017 World Cup .

For the 2017/18 season, Flanagan was recruited by the US Ice Hockey Association USA Hockey in preparation for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , where she won the gold medal with the US women.
