history

Potassium N , N was -dimethylglycinat 1935 by IG Farben for Alkazid process (also Sulfosolvanverfahren called, gas scrubbing ) for selective removal of hydrogen sulphide (and carbon dioxide ) from coking and refinery gases patented. After the Second World War , the development was taken over by BASF and used in 50 commercial plants between 1950 and 1976. It was then replaced by MDEA .
