The Friedrichshall potash works near Sehnde was a mine operated in the 20th century for the extraction of potash salts .

history

The Friedrichshall potash plant had its origins in the late founding period of the German Empire in 1896 with the establishment of the Kaliwerk Friedrichhall AG stock corporation in Sehnde, which was not entered in the commercial register in Berlin until 1899 . However, the production of potash salts in the Friedrichshall plant did not begin until 1906 or 1907.

The operating company was renamed Kali-Chemie AG during the Weimar Republic .

After the Second World War , Kali-Chemie AG moved its headquarters from Sehnde to Hanover , but continued to operate Friedrichshall.

In 1981, the production of the Friedrichshall potash plant was stopped. In the same year, the Sehnde municipal administration released a record entitled Klingende Grüsse aus Sehnde with works by the Liedertafel , the men's choir Unity from Rethmar and the orchestra of the Kali-Werk Friedrichshall, recorded in the auditorium of the Sehnder school center.
