Kallikratia ( Greek Καλλικράτεια , ( f sg.. ); Official name Dimotiki Enotita Kallikratias , Δημοτική Ενότητα Καλλικράτειας, alternative transcription Kallikrateia ) is a district of the town of Nea Propontida in the west of the peninsula Halkidiki in the Greek region of Central Macedonia . It was created in 1997 as an independent community within the Kapodistrias program by amalgamating the previously independent communities of Nea Kallikratia , Nea Silata , Lakkoma and Agios Pavlos . The administrative seat was their largest village Nea Kallikratia, from which the name of the municipality is derived. With the implementation of the administrative reform in 2010 , Kallikratia merged with Moudania and Triglia to form the new municipality of Nea Propondida.

Kallikratia is located in the west of the prefecture of Chalkidiki in the region known as Bottike during ancient times.

In addition to agriculture and tourism , the economic mainstay of Kallikratia is above all viticulture : the Tsantali company is based in the village of Agios Pavlos, along with cultivation areas and wine press.
