Steinbach is a village that is a district of the southwestern Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg in the Upper Palatinate .

The village is rural and is located at the foot of the 650  m above sea level. NHN high Zantberg . On the eastern edge of the village lies the Steinbach spring, which is also designated as a geotope (371Q001).

Appel Cave

The Appel Cave is located about 500 meters northeast of Steinbach. The approximately 80 meter long karst cave is also called the Steinbach cave and is listed in the Franconian Alb cave cadastre (HFA) as A 29. It was first discovered in 1618. In 1886 it was rediscovered by the master tailor Appel, who gave the cave its name. Until 1945 the cave was a show cave with catering. It is now privately owned and locked all year round. It is designated as a geotope (371H009) and a natural monument . Due to prehistoric finds and human skeletal remains, it is also designated as a ground monument (D-3-6435-0100).

Kallmünzer

There are numerous Kallmünzer blocks around the village . These silicified sandstones are not boulders from the Ice Ages, but rather were created through weathering processes. The largest of the blocks (three by two by two meters) is designated as a geotope (371R022) and a natural monument.
