The Kampffmeyer mills GmbH , based in Hamburg was one of Germany's largest providers of grain products for the food industry and the baking industry. It was a division of VK Mühlen AG and operated with its subsidiaries under the brand “Kampffmeyer Milling Group”. The nine mill locations of Kampffmeyer Mühlen GmbH included a. the Aurora Mühle Hamburg , the Ellmühle Cologne and the Hildebrandmühlen Frankfurt am Main . Mainly wheat and rye are ground there. Marketing and sales for food retail products were bundled in the sales company "Aurora Mühlen GmbH".

The history of the Kampffmeyer mills goes back to the Middle Ages. From the former windmills and water mills with relatively low and fluctuating output , modern and efficient mills emerged over the centuries, especially in the course of the industrial revolution . The group of companies went back to Emil Kampffmeyer, who founded the company in Potsdam in 1883 . In 1922 the company headquarters was relocated to Berlin and the company expanded by taking over a number of traditional mills and silo operations.
